My Sol Story
by Heidi Eberhardt, MAc, LicAc, RYT, CWFNC, Owner/Founder of Sol Acupuncture Health Solutions
As long as I can remember, I have felt a heightened sense of caring for the well-being of others, along with a deep calling to help people heal. As a Freshman at Dartmouth College, my roommate at the time dared me to take a tai chi class, and so it began. From that moment forward I initiated a journey to unlock the mysteries of the human body and the intricacies of our body-mind connection.
I discovered the immense healing power of Acupuncture and Asian Medicine firsthand through my own journey of recovery from a debilitating work injury. Years of suggestions — for pharmaceuticals, to just “live with it” or undergo complicated and less than promising surgery —all fell short of my desire to live happy, healthy, and whole.
I decided to do something different. Acupuncture medicine was my ticket to recovery from a chronic pain syndrome, affecting my neck to my hands, that left me unable to type on a computer or perform daily living tasks without pain. I didn’t understand then that my environment and my nutrition were also contributing to the injury.
Fast forward, and after 16 years of private practice, I continue to marvel at the body’s miraculous healing ability. Each session with a person reveals the instantaneous ability for the body to heal itself given the right environment and stimulus. Healing becomes ‘fun’ as we delight in seeing the body’s immediate changes in response to the acupuncture.
I invite you to come and see, the amazing healing potential that lies within your own body. As an Acupuncturist and Whole Food Nutrition Counselor, I help the body heal itself, as nature intended.
One of my passions in life is learning languages and exploring different cultures. I was a Spanish major at Dartmouth and lived in Spain and Mexico as an undergrad. The “Sol” in Sol Acupuncture Health Solutions, is Spanish for “sun”, and represents our eternal brightness of being.
